Geoffrey Mead was born in Brighton where he attended the B&H Grammar …but did not thrive! After many years in retail, he attended University of Sussex as a ‘mature unqualified student’. He obtained a Geography BA, then later took an MA in Local History, and finally a Doctorate in Geography, looking at Brighton’s interwar suburban growth. Geoffrey taught for the adult education unit at Sussex over many years as well as similar departments at Surrey and Greenwich Universities…and is now supposedly retired!”
